“21 At 33” was Elton John’s first release of the eighties. The cryptic title simply referred to the fact it was his 21st album at 33 years of age. The UK superstar, coming from the disaster of his 1979’s disco album “Victim Of Love,” rebounded quite well with this new recording that saw him moving in an elegant pop direction.

While seriously ill with bone cancer, country/pop singer Kevin Sharp met David Foster through the Make A Wish Foundation. Through those hard times Foster became very close to the young performer. When Sharp went into remission, Foster secured him a record deal that resulted in his 1996 debut record, “Measure Of A Man.”

This highly enjoyable, mainstream compilation kept the #1 spot for ten weeks on Billboard’s album chart and became one of the all-time best sellers with certified sales of nine million copies in the USA alone. “Footloose” was also a hit singles’ machine with six of the nine tracks reaching the top 40.

“I’ll Always Be There” is the title of a successful anthem that David Foster co-wrote with Quebecoise music star Roch Voisine. The two joined forces in 1992 when they worked on Voisine’s first English language album. That same year in Ottawa, Voisine premiered “I’ll Always Be There” accompanied by Foster on piano at the celebration of Canada’s 125th Anniversary attended by Queen Elizabeth II.
