All those records became hits for the legendary music producer and his dream team of songwriters, arrangers and musicians that included the Toto guys, the late Rod Temperton (1949-2016), Jerry Hey and David Foster.

Jimmy Thudpucker was a fictional character created by Garry Trudeau for the legendary comic strip Doonesbury. In the strip, Thudpucker was a young singer/songwriter who went on to become a rock star. Eventually, Trudeau decided to translate his fiction into real life releasing Thudpucker music created with the support of good friends like guitarist Steve Cropper of Booker T & The MG’s fame and a very young David Foster.

Consequently, the Canadian music-maker was one of the celebrated tunesmiths invited to appear on the 1982 Norwegian TV show, Songwriters For The Stars. Along with Foster, the show featured hit-makers Bruce Roberts, Roger Nichols, Barry Mann & Cynthia Weil, Jimmy Webb and Rupert Holmes.
