Produced by David Foster, that milestone cd eventually sold over six million copies in the US alone. That triumphant chart performance led to a high-profile tour that sent the young singer all over the US to perform at sold-out venues. His tour was captured on Groban’s next cd/dvd entitled Live At The Greek. Recorded at Los Angeles’ infamous Greek Theater, Live At The Greek delivered top ratings when broadcasted on the PBS “Great Performances” series, became an out-of-the-box best-seller and was certified six-times platinum.

Throughout the eighties, the God-given talent of Celine Dion built a huge buzz between Canada and other francophone countries. During that time, the Quebecoise songbird released a series of albums and singles in French that had very good chart resonance, mostly in her homeland. After an extremely promising start, the dawn of the nineties brought Unison, Ms. Dion’s introduction to international audiences. Released in April of 1990, Unison was completely sung in English and saw the young artist collaborating with David Foster.

Produced by renowned Jay Graydon, Friends In Love was a stunning example of the most refined adult pop delivered with all the genius tricks that made other Graydon productions, including Al Jarreau’s Breaking Away and Manhattan Transfer’s Mecca For Moderns, milestones of quality pop. Unlike those aforementioned classics, Friends In Love fell victim of an absurd boycott by the record label. The album eventually sold only 200,000 copies and hit the wall at #87 on Billboard’s Top 200.
