HEART TO HEART

From SO CLOSE
Written by David Foster, Michael McDonald & Kenny Loggins

Thierry Condor is a talented Swiss singer who recently became a fixture in the refined circle of the West Coast pop music world. Blessed with an extremely distinctive tenor, Condor crossed paths with his compatriot and gifted producer/arranger Urs Wiesendanger. At the dawn of the new millennium, Condor was asked to sing on two of Wiesendanger’s projects, The Real Me and Somebody New.  Subsequently, when Condor released his impressive 2013 debut cd, Stuff Like That, Wiesendanger was the wizard behind the glass.

Condor’s record evoked true listening pleasure. Stuff Like That had an irresistible mix of intense ballads, breezy, quality pop and smooth R&B channeled through Condor’s soulful voice and well-supported by the colorful and creative instrumental scenarios crafted by Wiesendanger. The cd was a Swiss affair as was NiRo Music, the record company that released Stuff Like That. NiRo Music stands out as an independent label that commendably keeps the flag high on quality music through NiRo’s various projects.

NiRo Music’s next release is Condor’s cd entitled So Close. Condor’s sophomore effort should hit shelves in March of 2016. On November 27th to wet the appetite, NiRo Music will release a fantastic version of the 1982 Kenny Loggins’ hit “Heart To Heart” that can be previewed here. Producer Wiesendanger is again at the helm for this new cd. Wiesendanger crafts a fantastic version of the classic pop tune that was co-written by the legendary Loggins with two legends like David Foster and Michael McDonald. The arrangement is respectful of the original, yet adds an energetic, modern spin to the classic melody. There’s a fresh approach to the track thanks to a brilliant use of horns that enhance the jazzy power of the song’s structure. Condor’s vocal performance delivers big time in the best tradition of blue-eyed soul giants like Daryl Hall and Bobby Caldwell. Condor is one of the best pop/R&B singers on the European scene. He is perfectly supported on “Heart To Heart” by Wiesendanger’s great work on keyboards and the tune boast some top Swiss session guys including Dominic Ruegg, Bernhard Schoch and Daniel Kuffer who plays an effective sax solo that was done by David Sanborn on Loggins’ original. Special guest John Robinson adds his trademark power and finesse with a masterful pounding of the drums. Condor’s “Heart To Heart” gives us the commitment that So Close will be a must-have of 2016. “Heart To Heart” may be bought on i-Tunes or at Amazon. Experience, once again, the beauty of Foster’s artistry that shines even more brightly when put in the hands of capable people like Condor, Wiesendanger and NiRo Music.

Lyrics

You ain’t crazy
I ain’t gonna lie anymore
What you’re feelin’
there’s a reason for
I want to do right
Oh, I gotta do right
Do I love you?
Oh, you know I’ve tried
But what you’re after
You can’t find in my eyes
I want to do right
Darlin’
Tell the truth
Don’t turn away
This is our last chance
To touch each other’s hearts
Does anything last forever?
I don’t know
Maybe we’re near the end
Darlin’ oh how can we go on together
Now that we’ve grown apart
Well the only way to start
Is heart to heart
One by one
We’re collecting lies
When you can’t give love
You give alibis
Now I’m gonna do right
This time I gotta do right
I don’t want to leave
I don’t want to say good-bye
But sooner or later
There comes a time
When you gotta do right
Darlin’
Tell the truth
Don’t turn away
This is our last chance
To touch each other’s hearts
Does anything last forever?
I don’t know
Maybe we’re near the end
Darlin’ how can we go on together
Now that we’ve grown apart
Well the only way to start
Is heart to heart
Why are you so torn apart?
I need a little more lovin’ in my heart
People say that love will grow
So how was I to know
Love that’s come through years and years
Can’t find a way back home anymore
(SOLO)
Darlin’
Tell the truth
Don’t turn away
This is our last chance
To touch each other’s hearts
Does anything last forever?
I don’t know
But maybe we’re near the end
So darlin’ oh how can we go on together
Now that we’ve grown apart
Well the only way to start
Is heart to heart
Does anything last forever?
I don’t know
But maybe we’re near the end
So darlin’ oh how can we go on together
Now that we’ve grown apart
Well the only way to start
Is heart to heart
