“Thank You” is a 2009 Foster production for international superstar Seal. The song is a cover of an old funky number from Sly & The Family Stone and is one of the newly recorded tracks off Seal’s compilation titled “Hits.”
Foster and Seal already worked together in 2008 on the successful record “Soul.” Another new track and first single release, “I Am Your Man,” follows the soulful footsteps of that first collaboration. What’s impressive about “Thank You” is the powerful arrangement with a modern, danceable beat and in-your-face horns. Seal’s performance is always noteworthy and the production top notch.
“Hits” includes a comprehensive list of Seal’s most loved chart busting songs like “Crazy,” “Amazing,” “Prayer For The Dying” and “Kiss From A Rose.” There are also a few select tracks from “Soul” like “A Change Is Gonna Come” and “If You Don’t Know Me By Now,” both nominated for a Grammy this year.
It’s an absolute joy to listen to Seal’s voice on this impressive body of work. The singer and Foster will be back in the studio soon to work on a collection of new material. We can predict it’ll be one of the highlights of 2010 for Foster and Seal fans alike.
