Angelo Arvonio, known professionally as Angelo, was a talented singer/songwriter connected to the band Chicago. In the second half of the seventies he released a couple of good, though not commercially successful, albums. Both records were solid pop/rock efforts that included several Chicago members like Lee Loughnane, Danny Seraphine and Laudir de Oliveira. Musically, Angelo followed the footsteps of successful acts like The Doobie Brothers and James Taylor.

Gilbert O’Sullivan is a famous pop singer/songwriter from the UK who made music history penning the certifiable evergreen “Alone Again (Naturally).” It was the milestone of O’Sullivan’s career that’s based on ear candy pop with clever lyrics and a very personal style. In the first half of the seventies, O’Sullivan offered other great songs like the beautiful “Clair” and “Get Down,” both # 1 on the UK charts and #2 and #7 respectively in America.

Directed by Taylor Hackford, the 1985 blockbuster movie “White Nights” starred the late, great Gregory Hines and classical-dancer-turned-actor Mikhail Baryshnikov. The movie propelled two winners to the top of the worldwide music charts; Lionel Richie’s “Say You Say Me” and the Phil Collins/Marilyn Martin duet, “Separate Lives,” written by Stephen Bishop. Both these songs were nominated for Academy Awards and Richie would take home the Oscar in March of 1986.

In 2002, Maurice White finally released a live album on his Kalimba label with the recordings of a great Earth, Wind & Fire concert performed in Rio de Janeiro, in 1980, before an audience of more than 100.000 people. Released in 1986, “An American Tail” was a very successful animated movie produced by Steven Spielberg. Its soundtrack was written by the great James Horner who ten years later would receive an Academy Award for his score of the blockbuster movie, “Titanic.”
