During his years as a top session man in the seventies, David Foster wasn’t just playing on pop/r&b albums. His gifted fingers appeared on prominent jazz/fusion projects like Flora Purim’s 1978 “Everyday, Everynight.” Purim is one of the best jazz singers to come out of Brazil and is married to famed percussionist and frequent collaborator Airto Moreira.

“Listen To Me” is a beautiful song recorded in 1989 by Céliné Dion right before recording her first English album “Unison.” This duet with the amazing Warren Wiebe was the theme of the movie with the same title starring Kirk Cameron and Jami Gertz. David Foster wrote the music score for the movie.

Released in 1993, “Duets” was Frank Sinatra’s last huge comeback album. With this record, “The Voice” reached #2 on the charts and sold more than three millions copies. “Duets” included collaborations with many mega-stars including Aretha Franklin, Bono, Tony Bennett and Liza Minnelli.

Jermaine Jackson, a member of the famous group The Jackson 5, later known as The Jacksons, developed a good solo career between the late seventies and the eighties that brought him some success on the charts. In 1986 the singer released “Precious Moments,” a solid album that is musically close to the successful atmospheres of Lionel Richie.
