The summer of 2002 saw the release of a very comprehensive compilation by super group Chicago songs entitled “The Very Best Of Chicago: Only The Beginning.” Released by Rhino Records, this greatest hits collection included all of the band’s Top 40 hits. “The Very Best Of Chicago: Only The Beginning” became a Top 40 hit on its own and went multi-platinum by selling over 2 million copies. It is evidence of how current and successful Chicago’s catalogue is to this day.

“The Boy From New York City” was a 1965 hit co-written by George Davis and John Taylor for doo-wop vocal group The Ad Libs under the production of the legendary Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller. In 1981, the song was covered with even greater success by Manhattan Transfer.

May 1991 saw the release of the movie “One Good Cop” starring Michael Keaton and Rene Russo. The music for that motion picture was written by David Foster with William Ross. It was one of Foster’s first collaborations with the gifted composer/arranger/orchestrator and Ross immediately became a fixture on several Foster’s productions. Ross could be found on projects for Barbra Streisand, Celine Dion, Josh Groban and many others.
