I WILL

From Pop Hits Plus…
Written by David Foster, Richard Marx & Linda Thompson

“Pop Hits Plus…” is a 2003 promotional release issued by David Foster’s publishing company, Peermusic. This double cd compilation includes original productions of Foster’s most important hits like “I Have Nothing,” “You’ll See,” and “To Love You More.” It offers performances from superstars like Madonna, Céliné, Whitney, The Corrs, Chicago and many more. “Pop Hits Plus…” is mostly based on Foster’s work of the past 15 years with a few gems from previous decades. For a more comprehensive look at his eighties works, check out another similar project entitled “Selected Pop Hits,” also issued by Peermusic. Although both releases are quite difficult to find, copies occasionally show up on Ebay at very high prices. They’re worth the effort. “Pop Hits Plus…” gives the lucky listener some lesser known but highly valuable album tracks originally on records by Andrea Bocelli, Toni Braxton, Eden’s Crush and Luis Miguel. There are also songs recorded for special events like Céliné’s “The Power Of The Dream” and LeAnn Rimes’ “Light The Fire Within,” both performed at different Olympic Games. “I Will” is another goodie included here. It is a new song performed by former N’Sync member, Chris Kirkpatrick, and co-written by Foster with Richard Marx and Linda Thompson. Foster’s first collaboration with N’Sync was the hit ballad “Music Of My Heart.” “I Will” follows the same lines as an effective adult pop ballad enhanced by a dramatic, rich arrangement, intense vocals by Kirkpatrick and perfect production. This beautiful song was also included in a couple of compilations of Foster’s bigger hits that were released in 2002, respectively entitled “The Best Of Me” and “Love Stories.”

Lyrics

When life seems hopeless and you are all alone
And no one is there to dry the tear drops from your eyes
When you can’t find a single reason left to try
Baby I will
(Baby I will)
Baby I will

Tell me the secrets that you’ve locked away
Confide your deepest fears that haunt you every day
All of the little things nobody else could understand
Baby I will
(Baby I will)
I will

It’s all right
I’ll be there
Count on me
Anytime anywhere
I’ll show you love
Till the end of my life
When no one else will stand by your side
I will

When all you’ve counted on comes tumbling down
And there’s only emptiness that nothing seems to fill
And when you can’t remember how to be strong
Baby I will
(Baby I will)
I will

It’s all right
I’ll be there
Count on me
Anytime anywhere
I’ll show you love
Till the end of my life
When no one else will stand by your side
I will

When no one else will stand by your side
I will

It’s all right
I’ll be there
Count on me
Anytime anywhere
I’ll show you love
(I will show you love)
Till the end of my life
When no one else will stand by your side

I’ll be standing right by your side
I will
