Written by David Foster, Ricardo Montaner, Luis Castillo

During his fantastic career, David Foster has collaborated with some of the most important names in the Latin market like Julio Iglesias, Luis Miguel and Alejandro Sanz. This came about due to Foster’s immense reputation as a producer/songwriter and his successful partnership with Humberto Gatica.

The Chilean-born engineer/producer scored huge success working with acts like Gloria Estefan, La Ley, Myriam Hernandez, Cafe Quijano and David Cavazos with Foster often lending a hand to write or play stuff on their records. One of those albums was Ricardo Montaner’s “Todo Y Nada.”

Released in 2005, “Todo Y Nada” included an intense song, “Vida Eterna,” co-written by Foster with Montaner and produced by Gatica. The song showcases Foster’s delicate piano playing that paints a subtle tapestry while he accompanies the singer. Montaner’s lyrics for the song are deeply influenced by religion and his vocal performance is touching and extremely effective. The remainder of “Todo Y Nada” presents mostly ballads like “Hablan,” “Grito De Dolor” and the hit single “Cuando A Mi Lado Estas” mixed with a few up-tempo Latin numbers including “Tengo Verano” and “Mal De Amor.” In 2006, “Todo Y Nada” also scored a couple of Latin Grammy nominations for Best Male Pop Vocal Album and Song Of The Year for “Cuando A Mi Lado Estas.”

Si tu vives a mi vera, no te faltará la abundad,
Ni a tus padres, ni a tus hijos, ni nación.
Tengo siembra y cosecha, solo…

Si no encuentras a quien dar tu carga.

Y vida eterna.
