Her record label, Arista Records, tried to market her as the new Whitney Houston thanks to her impressive voice and gorgeous looks and even though she didn’t become a superstar, she did reach a good level of popularity with this album. “One Wish” was well received and eventually certified platinum while it also reached #14 on the R&B albums chart.
