SUMMER OF OUR LOVE

Around the mid-seventies, Canadian singer/songwriter Bruce Miller released a few country/rock singles as well as Rude Awakening, an album on A&M Records. The album was co-produced by the late Canadian songwriter/guitarist Gaye De Lorme (1947-2011) and David Foster, who was just starting his career as a session man in Los Angeles. As a matter of fact, Foster was responsible for De Lorme’s move to L.A. when Foster offered De Lorme to become Skylark’s new guitar player.

In 1974 Skylark disbanded and David Foster immediately began his career as a top studio keyboard player in L.A. During those first years he played on albums by Lynyrd Skynard, Keith Moon of the Who and George Harrison. In 1975 he was given the chance to co-produce Bruce Miller’s “Rude Awakening.” Miller was a Canadian singer/songwriter whose folk/rock music was following the footsteps of acts like the Eagles, Poco and Jackson Browne.
