Patti Labelle is one of the true soul/R&B divas of our times. Her distinctive voice reaches the sky with amazing control and unique power. Her successful career has spanned over fifty years and Ms. Labelle’s soprano voice is still as consistent and impressive today as it was in the beginning. The legendary singer crossed paths with David Foster for her 1997 gold-certified release Flame. The Canadian super-producer crafted two ballads on that Grammy-nominated cd. “You Are My Solid Ground” was co-written by Foster with then-wife Linda Thompson.

In 1985, David Foster and Bryan Adams first collaborated on the famous charity song, “Tears Are Not Enough.” These two Canadian treasures would later touch base when Adams sang on Foster’s 1991 ” River Of Love ” cd and when Adams and Barbra Streisand sang together on the 1996 “I Finally Found Someone,” a duet produced by Foster. Fast forward to a couple of years ago. Foster approached the legendary rocker with a project he thought would be perfect for his friend. The idea was to record a bunch of covers of hits from the sixties and the seventies, songs that Adams loved back in his teenage years.

May 1991 saw the release of the movie “One Good Cop” starring Michael Keaton and Rene Russo. The music for that motion picture was written by David Foster with William Ross. It was one of Foster’s first collaborations with the gifted composer/arranger/orchestrator and Ross immediately became a fixture on several Foster’s productions. Ross could be found on projects for Barbra Streisand, Celine Dion, Josh Groban and many others.
