Written by Rod Temperton

Given his superior talents, David Foster became a fixture on all the Quincy Jones’ productions released between 1978 and 1983. The Hitman co-wrote, arranged and/or played on chart-toppers like Off The Wall and Thriller by the late Michael Jackson (1958-2009), Q’s own The Dude, Patti Austin’s Every Home Should Have One, the late James Ingram’s (1952-2019) debut album It’s Your Night, The Brothers Johnson’s Blam and the late Donna Summer’s (1948-2012) self-titled release.

HOLD ME

from SWEET MEMORIES
Music by David Foster Lyrics by John Sperling

The Stylistics were a legendary American vocal group and one of the Philly Soul movement’s most successful acts in the Seventies. Their hits included staples like “Betcha By Golly Wow,” “Break Up To Make Up,” “You Make Me Feel Brand New” and “People Make The World Go Round.” The group’s impeccable vocal harmonies presented a trademark falsetto sung by Russell Allen Thompkins, Jr. that’s one of the most recognizable in popular music.
