IO CI SARO’

from VIVERE: THE BEST OF ANDREA BOCELLI

written by  David Foster & Walter Afanasieff – lyrics by Andrea Bocelli & Eugenio Finardi

“The Best Of Andrea Bocelli – Vivere” is a compilation album released in the fall of 2007. The album includes all the most loved hits of the Italian superstar tenor plus five new composition.  Among the songs are staples like “ Time To Say Goodbye (Con Te Partirò),”

“Melodramma,” David Foster’s “The Prayer” and “Il Mare Calmo Della Sera.” The album also included another couple of Foster co-writes, the delicate “Mille Lune Mille Onde”  and the rousing “Because We Believe” which was used for Bocelli’s performance at the 2006 Winter Olympics. Three of the newly recorded songs were also produced by Foster while Walter Afanasieff produced the remaining two.  There’s a beautiful reworking of the Italian classic, “La Voce Del Silenzio” with spectacular vocals by Bocelli supported by an evocative arrangement. One of the originals is entitled “Io Ci Sarò” with music by Foster and Afanasieff and lyrics by Bocelli and veteran Italian rock singer/songwriter, Eugenio Finardi. “Io Ci Sarò” is a meaningful tune about the relationship between a separated father and his children. Obviously autobiographical for the superstar, Bocelli gives an intense performance singing his own touching lyrics. A top notch addition to the song is the magnificent guest piano playing by Chinese classical music star Lang Lang who helps the singer take the song one step higher. Foster’s and Afanasieff’s production and arrangement are the usual state of the art show.

“The Best Of Andrea Bocelli – Vivere” has sold over three million copies worldwide to date and was certified platinum in the US and four times platinum in Italy. It’s the perfect collection to discover Bocelli’s artistry and also to appreciate some of the most successful fruits of his musical relationship with David Foster.

Lyrics

Amore mio forse sai
che domani non mi troverai
non è mia la colpa
è la vita che mi porta via da te
ogni volta che sentirai
un pianoforte ti ricorderai
le nostre ore insieme a giocare
e ascoltare musica
ma io ci sarò
se soffrirai
accanto a te mi troverò
se vorrai
con il tempo, scoprirai
che l’Amore viene e se ne va
ma c’è un solo Amore
che non muore
e che col tempo crescerà
un vento di maestrale
che improvvisamente
il cielo schiarirà
ma io ci sarò
e se sarai felice
al cielo griderò
io non me ne andrò
e nei momenti tristi
accanto a te sarò
e se vorrai
io accanto a te sarò!
