British singer Jon Anderson is internationally known as the lead singer of the UK progressive super-group Yes. Anderson’s tenor voice is behind unforgettable rock songs like “Roundabout,” “Don’t Kill The Whale” and the 1983 #1 hit, “Owner Of A Lonely Heart.” The success of “Owner Of A Lonely Heart” brought Yes, and especially Anderson , back in the spotlight in the USA and probably lead to Anderson’s appearance on the 1985 original soundtrack of the hit movie “St. Elmo’s Fire.” David Foster was the mastermind of that soundtrack and co-wrote with Anderson a catchy, up-tempo number entitled “This Time It Was Really Right.” The song sports a noteworthy performance by Anderson who’s singing is close to Peter Cetera of Chicago. “This Time It Was Really Right” was arranged by Foster who embellished the tune with tight horns, guitars and keyboards that’s pretty close in style to his successful work with Chicago.
In 1988 after this first solo experiment in the world of quality pop, Anderson released a whole album recorded in LA with the guys from Toto and produced by Stewart Levine entitled “In The City Of Angels.” The single off the album, “Hold On To Love,” is another ear candy, upbeat pop gem that we suggest you to check out.
