From AYERS
Written by David Foster, Jeremy Lubbock & Rudy Perez

With “Ayer,” the first single from Luis Miguel’s 1993 hit album “Aries,” David Foster reached the #1 spot on Billboard’s Hot Latin chart. The song is a very sweet ballad. It is sung with intensity and power by the Latin superstar, surrounded by wonderful strings and a magnificent piano played by session great Robbie Buchanan.

This song first appeared in 1986 as an instrumental entitled, “All That My Heart Can Hold,” on David Foster’s self-titled solo album. A couple of years after Miguel’s hit version, Foster produced a new version with English lyrics for R&B singer Wendy Moten on her album entitled “Time For A Change.”

Even though Moten did a great job with it, we think Miguel’s passionate performance gives the song its definitive version. Its parent album, “Aries,” is a complete pleasure to listen to. We suggest you to check it out if you are looking for romance-themed ballads, but also for funky numbers with strong brass arrangements. The same thing can be said for Miguel’s latest record, “33.” It is also filled with tender ballads and sophisticated up-tempo numbers.

Lyrics

Hoy en un sueo te encontre
como un loco te bese
y estrenamos nuestro amor
hoy lejos de la realidad
conoci la eternidad
en un abrazo tuyo
como me duele saber
que esto es algo que solo soe
nos desgarramos de placer
una promesa quedo
nos juramos lealtad sin testigos
comprometimos el alma
hoy me doy cuenta que te ame
que mi vida la deje
en un sueo que soe
ayer…ayer
como me duele saber
que esto es algo que solo soe
nos desgarramos de placer
una promesa quedo
nos juramos lealtad sin testigos
comprometidos
tu y yo unidos
comprometimos el alma
hoy me doy cuenta que te ame
que mi vida la deje
en un sueo que soe…
ayer.
