WHAT CAN I SAY

From CHICAGO 16
Written by David Foster & James Pankow

Chicago 16 is a pop masterpiece, there’s no doubt about it. It is a classic album and the band’s first collaboration with David Foster.

AND THE MELODY STILL LINGERS ON

From NIGHT IN TUNISIA
Written by Dizzy Gillespie, Frank Paparelli, Chaka Khan & Arif Mardin

This isn’t just a song, it is a true musical event. In 1981, Chaka Khan and her producer Arif Mardin decided they wanted to pay a tribute to the great jazz players that have influenced black music’s world to this day.

WHY SHOULD I CARE

From WHEN I LOOK IN YOUR EYES
Written by Carole Bayer Sager, Linda Thompson & Clint Eastwood

What a gorgeous song this is. David Foster and Tommy Lipuma worked their magic again on this modern torch song exactly like they did a few years back for the Natalie Cole’s “Unforgettable” project.

THROW A LITTLE BIT OF LOVE MY WAY

From TAKE ME TO YOUR HEAVEN
Written by David Foster, Jay Graydon & B.J. Cook Foster

We are sure not many people remember Stevie Woods and this is a pity cause he was a very talented singer with some Jarreau echoes in his voice that released three good albums in the first half of the eighties. His music was a bit of a cross between quality pop and some classic rhythm & blues.

SPEAK LOW

From BACK TO BROADWAY
Written by Nash/Weill

This haunting ballad from Barbra Streisand’s #1 1993 CD – “Back To Broadway” – shows another side of David Foster’s talent, the fantastic ability to take an old classic and “contemporize” it, keeping the classic elements while adding a new, fresh setting to the tune.
